How to Remove a
Steering Cylinder
When removing a hose assembly
or fitting, the O-ring on the fitting
and/or hose end must be replaced
and then torqued to specification
during installation.
Refer to Section Two,
Hydraulic
Hose and Fitting Torque
Specifications.
1 Locate the hose bracket mounted to the steer
cylinder.
2 Remove the hose bracket cover retaining
fasteners. Remove the hose bracket cover.
3 Remove the hose bracket retaining fasteners
from the steering cylinder.
4 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hoses
from the steering cylinder. Cap the fittings on
the cylinder.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying

the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to squirt
or spray.

steer cylinder pivot pins.
6 Support the steer cylinder with a suitable lifting
device.
7 Place a rod through each steer cylinder pivot

cylinder may become unbalanced
and fall if it is not properly
supported by the lifting device.
