Telnet/SSH Cut-Thru Procedure via Dial-out Modems
This procedure is for SC-ADT applications that employ a modem bank in front of the target device,
or when the async RS232 format for a remote craft device cannot be known by the ADT. The
Telnet/SSH caller must include a special character command in the cut-thru port number to auto-
configure the ADT port to match the intended craft device, as shown in the example below.

1. Start a Telnet or SSH session to a specific port by defining the following Telnet or SSH
connection parameters, with the autoconfig code number as required (1 - 5).

For Example: Cut-Thru to Port 6 with port auto-config to 7M1 (code #4):
telnet 172.16.45.204 2406

ssh 172.16.45.204 3406
where [n] is the auto-config code number that overrides the SC-ADT port’s async RS232
format with a temporary configuration for the duration of the call.
2. Login with a valid username and password as required.
3. A successful Telnet/SSH cut-thru connection to the port will display a confirmation string.
Note
The SC-ADT port will not be able to make a Telnet/SSH connection if its Async RS-232 format does not match
that of the intended craft device. Repeat this procedure using a different code number as needed.
4. After disconnecting the call, the SC-ADT port will revert to the original async RS232 format.
