7.1. Multi kiln control
Multi-kiln control consists in the management of sever-
al kilns (up to 4 for 2850T and 8 for 3850T) with a single
controller.
Requirements are:
•
the temperature of each kiln is controlled by a different
PID loop;
• for the different kilns, the same temperature profile (SP
program) is used, which was previously saved as a
recipe;
• the temperature profiles of the various kilns can be
carried out at different times.
To meet the requirements, use the configuration called
"Partial program read".
This configuration, enabled in device setup page, allows
to manage recipes of “segments”. The other parts of the
programs, like the “Base” part, the “GETlogic” part, the
“Report” part does not change.
For default "Base", "GETlogic" and "Report" parameter
groups, the product includes a series of system recipes
called CFG_ZONE
n , where n takes values from 1 to 4 for
model 2850T and from 1 to 8 for model 3850T.
If "Partial Program Reading" is enabled, whenever the
controller is switched on, these recipes are automatically
loaded into memory at positions 1 to 8 of the program list
with the following criteria: CFG_ZONE1 in position 1, CFG_
ZONE2 in position 2, ... CFG_ZONE8 in position 8.
7.1.1. Managing parameter groups
For simplicity, three kilns are considered.
With authorisation level 2 (OEM), the "Base", "GETlogic"
and “Report” parameters are configured for the two kilns.
The two configurations can be different from each other.

With authorisation level 1 (maintenance), you configure the
"Segments" parameters for the
prod1 program.

When running, the controller runs three separate prod1
programs, one for Kiln 1, one for Kiln 2 and one for Kiln 3,
so designed:

7.1.2. Configuration Procedure
To configure the multi-kiln controller, proceed as follows:
1. Authenticate with level 2 (OEM).
2. Open the
Program configuration page (Home Page >
SETUP > SETUP MGR > Controller SETUP > page 2).
3. On the page, enable the "Partial Program Reading"
mode, enter "3" for the parameter No. visible prog , to
enable the display of 3 programs in the selection list,
and enter "1" for the
x parameter, to enable the display
of the 3 SP values for each segment in the Segment
overview page.
4. Open the Prog list page (Home Page > PROGRAMS).
5. In the list of programs "CFG_ZONE1" for position 1,
"CFG_ZONE2" for position 2 and "CFG_ZONE3" for
position 3.
6. For the 3 programs configure the "Base", "GETlogic"
and "Report" parameters. These parameters will be
used by all programs that are later loaded in the same
location in the program list.
7. Authenticate with level 1 (Maintenance).
8. Touch the
New prog
button.
9. Enter the name of the new program ( prod1 in the ex-
ample)and touch Save .
10. For the new program, configure the "Segments" pa-
rameters. This way, the instrument will automatically
associate all "Base", "Functions" and "Report" group
parameters previously configured to the new
prod1
program (system program CFG_ZONEx, where x is the
position in the program list).
11. To run this program ( prod1 ) on the 3 kilns, it is neces-
sary to load it in positions 2 and 3 of the program list.
12. Specify if duplication is done by a programme in posi-
tion one but is not among the default ZONE_CFG_x al
Reference will in any case be made to the default one
in the current position.
