9.7 Checking the safety gear
• Rotate the main switch to the position “
I
”.
• Turn the key on the platform control to the left and remove.
• Attach the pull cord to the brake
release lever (1) with a loop and
allow to fall freely to the floor.
• Press the
UP
button on the
manual control and move the
load platform up by approx. 6 m.
• Pull on the cord from below, outside the danger area. – The brake
releases and the platform builds up excess speed. The safety gear
must engage after 2-3 m and stop the platform. If this does not
happen, release the pull cord or brake release lever immediately!

After the safety gear has triggered, upward and downward travel of
the platform is blocked mechanically and electrically. Release the
safety gear as described in Chapter 10.2.
WARNING
Danger to life
The drop test must only be carried out by a qualified person specifically
appointed by the operating company who, on account of his/her training,
knowledge and practical experience, is able to evaluate the risks and
assess the safe condition of the safety gear.
The drop test must only be carried out from the ground.
After each drop test/after actuating the safety gear, the gear rack in this
area and the pinion of the safety gear must be checked for wear/damage.
