Installation
The rack and pinion hoist must be installed according to the
assembly and operating manual under supervision by a qualified
person, specifically appointed by the operating company!
Assembly personnel, refer to Chapter 1.6.1
6.1
Safety during installation
•
Also observe the safety notes in Chapter 2.
•
Before starting work at the place of use, acquaint yourself with the
working environment, e.g. obstacles in both work and traffic areas,
ground load bearing capacity and necessary barriers between the
construction site and public areas.
•
Before each installation, check whether all parts of the hoist such as
e.g. mast sections, electrical cables and control system, are in
perfect condition. Do not start the hoist if there is any damage!
Replace damaged parts immediately.
•
Cordon off the machine danger area.
−
Ensure that the danger zone at the lower loading point is protected
by a barrier except at the point of access to the load carrying device.
−
Identify the danger zone of the rack and pinion hoist.
−
No one is allowed to stand under the platform.
•
The
wind speed
during installation must not exceed
45 km/h
(= wind
force 5-6 acc. to the Beaufort scale).
•
Install the equipment on a stable foundation, align it in a precisely
vertical position and anchor it to the building.
•
At loading
heights above 2.0 m
, protection to prevent persons from
falling must be provided (only use original GEDA landing-level safety
doors).
•
Observe the load capacity of the hoist.
−
Until
no second mast bracket
(at a height of approx. 9 m) has been
installed,
the max. load capacity is 250 kg.
−
The red warning light is illuminated on the trolley switch box if the
platform is overloaded. Immediately reduce the loading weight! In this
case, the control function is interrupted until the warning lamp goes
off.
•
The
projecting mast sections
may be extended a
maximum of
5.5 m
above the last anchor point during installation! (Upper edge of
the trolley to mast tie).
