GEA Niro Soavi

2.2.1 Monoblock compression head

The Head

(1)

is the machine's principal assembly, where the product is pumped at high pressure,

first sucked in and then driven by the pistons, themselves driven by the crank gear system with con-

rods and crankshaft.

The product enters the compression chamber of the Head, impelled by a special external pump,

initially at a low pressure of 5/6 Bar, which, depending on the operating pressure for which the

machine has been designed, is gradually increased to reach up to 250 bar. In the first stage of

processing, the product enters the compression chamber as the specific suction valves

(2)

in the

head open and subsequently the pressure generated by the action of the piston

(6)

pushes the

product so that the suction valves close, while the delivery valves

(3)

open, so as to release the

product towards the Homogenizing Unit.

The head is also fitted with a pressure gauge whose function is to measure the pressure in the Head.
