Chapter 9: Troubleshooting
To perform the Liquid Reactor Flow test
Press the
Liquid Reactor Flow
button. The button appears orange and the Analyzer displays the various Test
states.
•
Draining
— Pump P1-R empties any liquid that may be in the sparger through the reactor bypass in
preparation for the test.
•
Loading
—The syringe fills with dilution water, which is then dispensed into the sparger. Valve V6-R is
closed and valves V3-R, V4-R, and V5-R are open.
•
Dispensing
— Pump P1-R empties the sparger through the reactor tube.
•
Reactor Flow
— It will take a few seconds for the water to exit the Liquid Waste tube located in the back
of the Analyzer.
•
If you do not see water exiting the waste tube while P1-R is operating, or if the liquid level in the sparger
does not go down, the reactor tube may be plugged.
•
Waiting
— The test is complete.
Gas Leak Checks
There are six tests to help locate leaks in the gas delivery system that may exist in the Analyzer. Step-by-step
instructions for each leak test is provided in the following pages. Perform the procedures in the following
sequential order.
Check 1 — Gas Manifold Leak Check (using the
Gas Manifold
button)
Check 2 — Reactor Inlet Valve Leak Check (using the
Reactor Inlet Valve
button)
Check 3 — Reactor Bypass Leak Check (using the
Reactor Bypass
button)
Check 4 — Reactor Leak Check (using the
Reactor
button)
Check 5 — Reactor Outlet Valve Leak Check (using the
Reactor Outlet
Valve
button)
Check 6 — Gas-Liquid Separator, NDIR Filter, NDIR Sample Path and Sparger Leak Check (using the
Reactor Bypass
button)
Before You Begin
Before starting the Gas Leak Checks, ensure that either an optional air pump is installed or the gas inlet to the
Analyzer is connected to a source of compressed gas (10-20 psig). Refer to
for more
information.
Also, make sure to insert the small plug (included in the Accessories Kit) into the end of the coiled tube coming
from the left side of the NDIR. This prevents leakage of vent gas out of the NDIR during testing.
