7.6 FREQUENCY MEASUREMENT.
Note: Frequency measurements are done by applying voltage to phase B Input terminals A9-A10.
Using the LCD and keypad check that the frequency measurement error is not higher than 0.01 Hz for the following
frequency and voltage values:
•
Voltages: 50,150 and 250 Vac
•
Frequencies: 40, 50, 55, 60 and 70 Hz
Check that when a fixed frequency is applied, the frequency variation is not higher than 0.01 Hz when voltage is
modified between 50, 150 and 250 Vac.
7.7 DIGITAL INPUT CHECKS.
Apply DC nominal voltage (see model list) then adjust by +/-20%.
Apply voltage to an input and check that the relay detects its activation. Use
GE_LOCAL
or
DFFPC
communication
software,
INPUTS & OUTPUTS
menu, to monitor the status of inputs as they are being tested.
7.8 OUTPUT CHECKS.
1. Trip Output checks.
•
Enable all the protection functions.
•
Enable the trips.
•
Force the operation of one underfrequency function injecting a voltage at a frequency below the set
value.
•
Check if trip contacts ( TRIP1, TRIP2, TRIP3, TRIP4 ) are closed while the trip condition is present,
and reset when this condition disappears.
2. Alarm Output checks.
•
Switch off the Vdc power supply, and check if the alarm output contact is closed.
•
Switch on the Vdc auxiliary power supply and check if alarm contact is open.
Note: The Alarm Output also closes when the relay is out-of-service (

setting in the
GENERAL
SETTINGS
menu) or if being
IN
SERVICE
, there is no protection unit enabled to trip. At least one protection unit must be
enabled, and its trip permitted.
To perform this test, first set the relay to
IN
SERV
ice, under the
GENERAL
SETTINGS
/
STATUS
menu, and enable
at least one function, permitting its operation under
FUNCTION PERMIT
menu, and its trip permission under the
same menu.
