Scanner
Use the Scanner page to configure or modify details about the DICOM properties used for the

Step

1. Navigate to
Connectivity > Connection Manager > Scanner
.
2. In
Computer Name
, enter a name for the Ultrasound system.
NOTE
: This may be the same as the station name. Computer Name field is tied to DICOM Tag Station Name (0008,1010). Check with the
customer to see if they want to change it. This is auto-populated by default and based on serial number. No impact on PACS. Does not affect
any DICOM communication.
3. In
Scanner AE Title
, assign an AE Title to the Ultrasound system.
NOTE
: AE stands for Application Entity. DICOM services use this to identify the Ultrasound system.) AE Title is case sensitive.
This title may contain the Computer Name. Maximum number of characters in AE Title is 16 characters. It is NOT recommended to use the
factory default. This is not prohibited, but more than one system with the same AE Title can cause confusion.
4. In
Scanner Port
, if needed, edit the default port number of 104.
NOTE
: Restricted port numbers are listed in the user manual.
5. To prevent unsolicited inbound DICOM conversations, enable
Allow Trusted (Configured) Devices Only
.
NOTE
: When enabled, the Ultrasound system only responds to TCP/IP ping or DICOM Echo from a defined DICOM source IP address.
6. To allow DICOM connectivity to a secure network connection using encryption and certificates using the TLS (transport layer security) protocol,
enable
Use DICOM TLS Encrypted Connection
. Off is the default setting.
NOTE
: Internal communication is still DICOM-structured.
7. Under
Ping ICMPV4
, select one of the following:
- Disabled (default) = Ultrasound system will not respond to incoming IP ping requests from any remote device.
- LocalSubnet = Ultrasound system responds to all incoming IP ping requests from any remote device that belongs to same local subnet.
- Any = Ultrasound system responds to all incoming IP ping requests from any remote device.
8. Do one of the following:
- To remove all changes made to Scanner, select
Discard Scanner Changes
.
- To proceed to network settings, select
Next
.
