Memory Check in LINUX
1.) Turn system OFF and then back ON.
2.) As soon as the “Boot Screen” appears (see:
), press the
PG DN

Arrow down] key on the keyboard until the
Memtest
item is highlighted, then press
ENTER
.
The PC Memory Test will start automatically and will take about 2.5 hours.
If there are errors they will be listed.
NOTE:
If after one cycle (about 2.5 hours), no error messages are listed, it can be assumed that the Back End
Processor including power supply is working properly.
NOTICE
!! NOTICE:
After 3 sec. without pressing any key, the system will boot-up in windows.
If you missed step 1, retry again with
CTRL
+
ALT
+
DEL
.

!! NOTICE:
After one cycle (~ 2.5 hours) the memory check starts again. To interrupt the test, press the
ESC
key.
If you don’t interrupt the memory test by pressing the
ESC
key, it will perform never ending cycles of
memory checks.
