2.4.10 D20C Combination I/O Peripheral
The D20C is a combination I/O module used for small-point-count applications. The D20C is
configured with:
•
16 digital inputs and 8 momentary or dual function trip/close control outputs
•
Optional 16 analog inputs
•
Optional 8 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs.
D20 C1 and D20 C2 daughter boards are available as add-on options for the D20C to give
additional analog inputs and outputs, as follows:

2.4.10.1 D20C I/O Processing
Depending on its configuration, the D20C carries out the input and output processing described
in the preceding sections for the D20S, D20A and D20K.
The D20C performs I/O processes similar to those performed by the other D20 I/O modules, but
at a faster clock speed, required to meet the increased processing power demand.
The same technology is used on the D20C as on the other D20 peripheral I/O modules:
•
Digital inputs are the same design as the D20 S. Chatter filtering can be applied.
•
Optional analog inputs/outputs are provided through plug-in daughter boards. One shield
termination is provided for every two inputs. The programmable gain feature provided on the
D20A is not supported on the D20 C. The voltage-to-frequency converter is fixed at 5 V full
scale.
•
Control output security is the same as that supported by the D20K. Interposing relays can be
supplied using a D20KI. A Local/Remote switch is provided to turn off relay coil power and
put the module off-line (including analog, status and control). An off-line indication is sent to
the D20 main processor, which is available to the host as a pseudo-status.
