Mixed venous oxygen saturation (SvO₂)

An in vitro calibration was completed with this optical module using the same
catheter within the last 24 hours.

Select the SvO

parameter window.

Select the

Calibration

tab.

Select

Recall Calibration

Calibrating SvO

in vivo

NOTE

For optimal accuracy, perform in vivo calibration at least

every 24 hours.

Follow the

Advice to User

information displayed in the

Calibration

window to guide

you through the calibration steps.

Select the SvO

parameter window.

Select the

Calibration

tab.

Select

In Vivo Calibration

Calibrate

to perform in vivo calibration using the

SvO

and Hb values measured from the blood sample.

Select

Draw Blood Sample

and slowly draw a blood sample.

Enter the laboratory results:

a. Select a value for

Lab ScvO2

b. Select a value for

Lab Hb

Select

Save Lab Values

to complete calibration.

Updating the Hb value for SvO

measurement

The patient’s Hb value should be updated at least every 24 hours as it affects the
SvO

measurement. The

Update Hb

selection is active after in vivo calibration has

been completed with the

Save Lab Values

Select the SvO

parameter window.

Select the

Calibration

tab.

Select

Update Hb

and set the value.

Select the SvO

parameter window.

Select the

Alarms

tab.

If alarms have been set to

Alarm Off

, the alarm limits are greyed out. Select

Alarm On

to set the alarms.

Set the alarm limits.

Stopping the SvO

measurement

Remove the catheter from the patient.

Disconnect the catheter from the optical module.

Disconnect the optical sensor from the SvO

module.

Discard the catheter.
