10 Creating a method

About this chapter

This chapter describes how to create a method for ÄKTA ready in the UNICORN 5 Method
Editor. The same principles for method creation applies for UNICORN 7 but the dialog
boxes and menu options may differ. See UNICORN Method Manual for more information
on how to create methods.

In a simple example the general structure of a method is shown, along with the different
steps required to create it. There is also a section discussing the wizard for creating test
methods for efficiency testing of columns.

Note that the discussion in this chapter applies to methods written for the ÄKTA ready
strategy. For information about methods in general, and for detailed information about
the Method Editor, please see the UNICORN manuals.
