1.2 Product description
TubeMU
, It is a vintage compressor, which emulates the density and RMS generated in
this type of device. This specific type is called “Variable - Mu” and it means that the
amplification gain is variable by polarizing the “grids of the first two triode tubes” with
negative voltage. The higher the amplified signal, by the side channel circuit, the
higher the control voltage and therefore the greater the attenuation. The uniformity of
the signal is given because its control circuit is fed back “Feedback Compressor” and
for that reason this type of machines has the distinctive of musicality.
In this way these compressors behave, totally different from the others such as
Opticals, VCA, FET, and Diode Bridge, the latter also very similar to that of "Variable -
Mu" but with greater distortion.
To make it more current, “Dry - Wet” controls have been incorporated so that it can be
managed in parallel with the raw signal. In this way we can apply a hard ratio to
generate atmosphere, without damaging the dynamics.
With TubeMU, we can get great reverbs, as in many productions of a few years ago
and of the current “Trance” style. A smooth way to embellish all kinds of instruments,
complete mixes, and grouping buses for linking instruments and vocals.
TubeMU, is for sure the sweetest compressor in your tool drawer. And don't worry if
you don't know if it will be optimal for this style or that one. TubeMU is an all-rounder.
