CHAPTER 2: Installation

After you finish configuring all the uninitialized embedded modules and 
click 

Configure

, a message tells you that all systems have been configured. 

StorView then re-scans for systems and, if none are found, the 

Initialized

 

window opens. If someone plugs in a uninitialized module system into the 
network (same subnet mask) during the time of the rescan or resets a 
system password back to the default, the 

Uninitialized

 window opens 

again.

Select the MAC address of the embedded module you want to start, then 
click

 Launch StorView

. Your default Web browser opens with a login 

screen.

Enter the login name and 

new

 password, then click 

OK

. The 

Main

 window 

opens.

Setting up the Embedded StorView Module in Linux

To set up the Embedded StorView Module in Linux:

Log in as 

root

.

Insert the External Backup CD into your CD drive.

Change directories to the software location by typing:

cd [CDROM mount point path]/software/storview/embedded

Execute the Embedded StorView Setup Tool by typing:

./esvsetupcl-linux
Embedded StorView Setup Tool. v1.0
Entering Menu Mode.

Follow the on-screen prompts. When the setup is complete, you are 
instructed on how to proceed.
