CHAPTER 2: Installation

Select the Start Menu folder. You can accept the default name (StorView) 
or type your own custom Start Menu folder name by typing in the name 
you want. Click 

Next

 to begin the installation. The 

Setup Status

 window 

opens.

During the installation you see several windows while the installer 
completes the StorView installation, followed by the installation and 
configuration of the HTTP Web server software. You can cancel the 
installation at any time by clicking 

Cancel

.

After the installation is complete, a window opens that indicates that the 
installation was successful.

Click 

Finish

.

Start StorView by opening your Web browser and entering the IP address 
of the host attached to the storage system, followed by the port number. 
The format is 

HTTP://127.0.0.1:9292

. or 

HTTP://localhost:9292.

Upgrading StorView on Windows platforms

To upgrade the software:

 

1

Insert the 

Gateway External Backup CD

 (EBCD) into your CD drive. The 

autorun program automatically starts the Gateway Driver and Application 
Recovery menu.

Select the StorView software.

Click 

Install

.

When you are prompted to completely remove the previous version of the 
application, click 

OK

 to continue. After the previous software installation 

has been uninstalled, a 

Maintenance Complete

 window opens.

Click 

Finish

 to complete the process.

Follow the instructions in 

“Installing on Windows platforms” on page 6

.

Hardware pseudo-driver for Windows

You need to install the .inf pseudo-driver file on all Microsoft Windows 2000- 
and Windows 2003-based servers that are directly attached to a Gateway 
E-842R.

Manual driver installation

To install the driver manually:
