To install SNMP Service in Windows 2000:
Prepare the server to run the manageability software by installing the SNMP
service in Windows 2000 Server.
1 Insert the Windows 2000 Server operating system CD into the CD drive.
Close the browser if it opens automatically.

Control Panel
.
3 Double-click the
Add/Remove Programs
icon, then click
Add/Remove
Windows Components
.
4 Select the
Management and Monitoring Tools
check box, then click
Details
.
5 Select the
Simple Network Management Protocol
check box, clear the other
two check boxes, then click
OK
.
6 In the Windows Components Wizard dialog box, click
Next
. The wizard
installs SNMP.
7 Click
Finish
.
8 Close the Add/Remove Programs window.
9 On the desktop, right-click the
My Computer
icon, then select
Manage
.
10 Double-click
Services and Applications
, then double-click
Services
in the
right frame.
11 In the right frame, in the list of services, double-click
SNMP Service
, then
click the
Traps
tab.
Important You must install all applicable service packs after installing
any software.
