9.5.4 EDM Active Discrete Output
Active Discrete Output &
Engine Torque Control
On the Socata TBM 850, the
discrete output may be connected
to the engine torque limiter. In
such case, turning on EDM would
energize the torque limiter circuit,
resulting in overtorque protection
while the aircraft is in emergency
descent mode.
This capability is dependent upon
installation and should not be
relied upon to maintain the
engine within torque limits.
It is the full responsibility of the
pilot-in-command to operate the
aircraft and engine within the
limitations defined in the
POH/AFM.
PFD provides a discrete output that
allows synchronization of EDM with
other systems in the aircraft.
•
When EDM is on, the discrete
output is active.
•
When EDM is off, the output is
inactive.
Use of the active discrete output is
airframe and installation specific.
