4.2 Description of the control unit
The control unit was designed for the control of the setpoint pressure of the vacuum pump. With this it is
possible to pre-set a setpoint pressure so that it can be kept by the control. If the required pump delivery
rate is too low and the setpoint pressure has been reached, the driving speed will be reduced to the mini-
mum speed. If this condition (minimum speed, falling short of setpoint pressure) remains for a certain time,
the drive will be switched off, the control however remains active. If the setpoint pressure is exceeded, the
drive will start again.
4.3 Control box
The electrical control box that comes with the central unit includes a special system control that allows the
regulation and control of the vacuum pump.
4.4 Fields of application
The claw vacuum pumps are suitable for the evacuation of closed systems or for a continuous vacuum with-
in the following inlet pressure ranges:
200 – 700 mbar (abs.)
The maximum pumping capacity with unrestricted suction is
950 m
3
/h at
50 Hz
.
Maximum permissible back pressure on the outlet side:
+50 mbar
Data sheet
D 1880
shows the dependency of the pumping speed on the inlet pressure.
If the unit is switched on more frequently (at regular intervals of approx. 10 times per hour) or at
higher ambient temperatures and inlet temperatures, excess temperature limit of the motor wind-
ing and the bearings may be exceeded.
Contact the manufacturer regarding such operating conditions.
If it is installed in the open air the unit must be protected from environmental influences (e.g. by a
protective roof).
