SECTION 9
TROUBLESHOOTING

Air/oil under pressure will cause severe personal injury or death. Shut down
compressor, relieve system of all pressure, disconnect, lockout and tagout power
supply to the starter before removing valves, caps, plugs, fittings, bolts and
filters

SYMPTOM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

REMEDY

Compressor
fails to start

Main disconnect open

Check and reset.

Blown fuses in control box

Check voltage and fuses. Replace
fuses.

Shutdown event sensed by
controller not re-set

Investigate cause of fault and press
“STOP/RESET” button to reset.

Read error message on control
panel

Take appropriate action. See Control
Manual 13-17-600.

Remote Contact is open

Replace switch or jumper.

Variable Frequency Drive fault
active

Investigate and correct cause of fault
and press “STOP/RESET” button to
reset.

System pressure exceeds set
pressure

Wait until system pressure falls below
set pressure.

Compressor
starts but
stops after a
short time

High discharge temperature

See “High Discharge Air
Temperature,” this section.

Low oil injection pressure

Check oil filter dP.

Blown fuse in control box

Replace fuse (investigate if fuses
continue to blow).

Variable Frequency Drive
overload sensor tripped

Reset and investigate cause of
overload.
