VALVE SELECT
VALVE SELECT determines which valve opens during the Agitate/Wash-In
operation.
Select or deselect the desired valve by pressing the key below the appropriate
VALVE SELECT LED. Only one valve can be programmed to open during the
Agitate/Wash-In operation. A different valve can be selected while the
Agitate/Wash-In operation is in progress by pressing the appropriate key. If no
valves are programmed to open, the COBE 2991 goes into a Hold status at the
beginning of the Agitate/Wash-In operation.

Programming a Hold
In addition to using the CALL stop option to program a Hold status at the
beginning of the Supernatant-Out operation, you can also program a Hold status at
the beginning of the Start/Spin or Agitate/Wash-In operations using the following
methods.
Programming a Hold Status at the Beginning of the Start/Spin Operation
To program a Hold status at the beginning of a Start/Spin operation for a given
cycle, program a zero spin time for that cycle.
When the Start/Spin operation with the zero spin time programmed is reached, the
HOLD light illuminates, the centrifuge continues spinning, the primary audible
alarm sounds (if turned on), and the secondary audible alarm sounds.
You have the following options:
• Enter a time of 0.1 minute or greater and press CONTINUE. The Start/Spin
operation continues for the time entered.
-or-
• Press the STOP RESET button to end the program.
To display the total time elapsed since the COBE 2991 entered the Start/Spin
operation, press the ELAPSED TIME key. The time displayed includes the time
spent in Hold status and any time that was entered at the end of the Hold status.
