4.2 Positioning the Mobile Connection Panel in the Magnet Room
CAUTION.
Position the Visual‑ICE MRI Mobile Connection Panel in a manner to avoid draping
needle tubing across the patient. Needle tubing may become extremely cold when conducting
freeze cycles during a cryoablation procedure. It is important that a patient’s skin is protected from
direct contact with needle tubing to avoid the potential for thermal injury to the patient. Ensure an
appropriate insulating barrier is placed as needed (such as towels) or other method is employed to
prevent needle tubing from touching a patient’s skin.
1.
Position the Mobile Connection Panel alongside the patient table ensuring that the needle(s) can
reach the patient. The Mobile Connection Panel should be positioned such that the needles can
be moved in and out of the magnet bore without placing strain on the needle tubing.
2.
Lock all wheels using the Wheel Brake Levers (Figure 2‑9).
4.3 Setting up the Console in the Control Room
1.
Position the Console in the control room. Ensure that the power switch and the power control
knob (Figure 2‑2 and Figure 2‑3) are both easily accessible.
NOTE:
Allocate space with adequate ventilation and free airflow. In order to guarantee proper
ventilation, always keep the sides of the Console at least 0.5 meters (20 inches) from walls or
other obstructions to airflow.
2.
Lock the two front wheels using the Brake Pedal on the Console. If necessary, lock the two rear
wheels using the individual brakes on each wheel.
3. Plug the power cord into a hospital grade power outlet (electrical mains outlet) with a ground
connection. Galil Medical recommends using a stable and uninterruptable power outlet.
WARNING. To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a
hospital grade electrical power outlet with a protective earth.
4.
Ensure that the power switch located on the rear of the Console is in the ON position (Figure 2‑3).
This power switch should remain ON at all times. The Visual‑ICE MRI System will not turn ON if
this power switch is in the OFF position.
5. Confirm that the Argon Shutoff Valve on the Console is in the GAS ON position. Turn it to the
GAS ON position, if needed.
6.
Confirm the Manual Vent Valve is fully closed (Figure 2‑3). If needed, turn the knob clockwise
until it is fully closed.
7.
Raise the monitor to the UP position and adjust it to a comfortable viewing angle.
CAUTION.
Use care when swiveling the touch screen monitor to avoid the potential for pinching
fingers.
8.
OPTIONAL:
If connecting an external monitor, plug the auxiliary display cable for the monitor into
the auxiliary display port on the front of the Console.
NOTE:
The external monitor must support a resolution of 1280 x 1024, 60Hz.
9. Turn the system ON using the power control knob located on the front of the Console (Figure
During boot‑up, the system performs several diagnostic tests to verify that the hardware and
software are operating properly. The system may produce a series of clicking sounds when the
system performs self‑diagnostic tests. This boot‑up process is completed in approximately 45
seconds.
