3.3 Connecting to the MCT Interface
Power wiring lengths should be kept to a minimum, and it is preferable to have the power wiring run using a
minimum of 18/2 twisted shielded cable. This keeps the
“hot” and “common” wires paired to minimize the
effects of external noise.
To make a connection, strip about ¼
” of insulation off the end of the wire, turn the connector screw
counterclockwise until the gap is wide open, insert the wire all the way in, and turn the screw clockwise until it’s
tight. Connect positive DC line (hot) to t
he ‘
+
’ terminal and the negative DC line (common) to the ‘
-
’ terminal.
The other end of the cable should be properly terminated at the 24VDC power source, and the shield connected
to the main earth ground.
