How to Change the Display Mode
The FSS-3BB has several display modes, some of which can be displayed in a split
screen.
1.4.1
How to change the display mode
1. If the header is not displayed, put the cursor at the top edge of the display to show
it.
2. Select the [MODE] indication on the header. The indication is now highlighted in
a green color.
3. Scroll to show the desired mode. The available modes depend on the [Mode]
menu settings in the [System] menu. See section 4.7.7.
The table below lists all the possible modes with their abbreviation (as displayed
on-screen) along with the meaning.
* Normal echo display
Note:
If the [ID] display is selected and the transducer is not IDENTI-FISH
™
com-
patible, the message "The connected transducer is not compatible with IDENTI-
FISH
™
Echo. IDENTI-FISH
™
echo display is not available." appears.
Low and high frequency displays
Low frequency
: The sounder uses ultra-
sonic signals to detect bottom conditions.
The lower the frequency of the signal, the
wider the detection area. Therefore, the
50 kHz frequency is useful for general
detection and judging bottom condition.
High frequency
: The higher the frequen-
cy of the ultrasonic signal, the better the
resolution. For this reason the 200 kHz
frequency is ideal for detailed observa-
tion of schools of fish.
