How to Set the Calibration Tools

5.3.1

How to set the fishing rod

Set the rod mounts and fishing rods, referring to the figure "Mounting location for fish-
ing rods" for their locations and the two mounting precautions noted below.

• Make the triangle connecting fishing rods 1, 2, and 3 as close as possible to an equi-

lateral triangle.

• Install the transducer so that it is on the straight line connecting the midpoint of fish-

ing rods 2 and 3 to 1.

Note:

The location shall have no interfering objects between the transducer and the

standard sphere.

How to set fishing rod to rod mount

Note:

If the position is determined from the ship’s general layout diagram or the like,

it is recommended to mark the position on the hull (paint, etc.) for ease of positioning
in future surveys.
