1.4 Power Requirements
The S124 fusion splicer can also operate from an AC power source with the
S979 AC/DC adapter. The S979 adapter can accept an AC power source
with voltage between 100~240V at a frequency of 50~60Hz. The S947
internal battery is charged by the S124 through the S979 AC adapter
WARNING
To avoid the risk of injury or death, ALWAYS observe the following
precautions before initializing the S124 fusion splicer.

If using a voltage-reducing auto-transformer to power the S124
fusion splicer, ensure that the common terminal connects to the
grounded pole of the power source.

Use only the type of power cord supplied with the S124 fusion
splicer.

Connect the power cord to a power outlet equipped with a
protective ground contact only (never connect to an extension
cord that is not equipped with this feature).

Deliberately interrupting the protective ground connection is
prohibited.
