Encryption Method
WEP and WPA are encryption standards for Wireless LAN. In order
to increase the security of your network against eavesdropping and
attacks, you should activate WEP or WPA, depending on whether the
other WLAN devices support WEP or WPA.
Note:
If you want to use keys for securing your wireless network, please
observe that all subscribers of the same wireless network have to
use the same keys.
WEP Configuration
•
WEP Key Lengths
Select 64 or 128 bits, according to the encryption procedure sup-
ported by your clients. If all clients support 128-bit WEP, you should
use 128 bits.
•

Configure which entry mode you prefer. You can choose between
HEX (hexadecimal entry, characters “0” to “9” and “A” to “F”) and

Pass Phrase
If you use WPA with PSK (Pre-Shared Key) in your wireless network,
the same pass phrase has to be entered on all devices involved. This
pass phrase is subsequently used for the generation of the keys. It may
have a length between 8 and 63 bytes and may contain ASCII charac-
ters with values between 31 and 127.
