Servicing Customer-Replaceable Units

Remove a Fan Tray

If you are removing the fan trays as a prerequisite for another service procedure,
follow the steps in this procedure.

Before you begin, complete these tasks:

Read the section,

Power off the server, using one of the methods described in the section,

“Powering

Off the System” on page 63

■

Perform the task,

“Extend the Server to the Maintenance Position” on page 66

■

Perform the task,

“Perform Electrostatic Discharge – Antistatic Prevention

Measures” on page 69

Do the following :

●

Press the fan tray latches toward the center of the fan tray and pull the fan tray
up and out of the system.
