2.4.2

Adding CPU modules

The use of five or more CPU modules in the main unit requires the installation of
the optional power supply unit.

Also, power consumption and heat dissipation may increase if an upgrade
results in a processor with a faster clock speed being used.

One system board is installed in a PRIMEPOWER650 rack-mount type (8U) server.

The board provides eight CPU module slots. In the basic configuration, CPU

modules are installed in two of the eight slots. Note the following information

regarding CPU module expansion.

SPARC64 V processors are available.

The CPU modules must have the same clock speed and cache size. CPU modules

with different clock speeds or cache sizes cannot be installed together.
