2.4 Adding Optional Internal Units

Note:

For a dual power supply, all four power supply units are already installed.

Therefore, no additional power supplies are needed.

A software tool (Machine Administration Menus) included in the Enhanced Support

Facility is used to hot swap the power supplies (FEP) of the main unit. For a

description of hot swapping, refer to the Machine Administration Guide supplied with

the Enhanced Support Facility.

Equipment damage

The unit may malfunction if the PSUs are not hot swapped correctly. Contact a
certified service engineer before attempting to hot swap a PSU.
