2.10 Loading Tape Cartridges

2.10 Loading Tape Cartridges
Load tape cartridges from a CAS into a drive.

The CAS door could not be opened, but opening can be
retried.

Data loss
A drive that is being used in a load operation can no longer be accessed by the
backup software. (The drive becomes offline, with "Ready/Offline" displayed in the
Status menu as Drive Status.) Before loading a drive, be sure that the backup
software is not running for that drive.
• If loading is attempted while the backup software is accessing the library, a message is displayed stating
that the library is busy. Retry loading when the library is no longer busy.
• To unload a tape cartridge, eject it manually. For information on manually ejecting tape cartridges, refer
to
"2.11 Ejecting Tape Cartridges" (page 57)
