Erase Disk function for hard disks and solid state drives

Erase Disk
is a solution integrated in the fi rmware of FUJITSU desktops (
UEFI
:
Unified Extensible
Firmware Interface
) to delete all data from a hard disk or Solid State Disc drives (SSDs).
With this function, all data from internal or external hard disks or SSDs connected via
the eSATA port can be irretrievably deleted before the hard disks are disposed of or
the entire system is disposed of. The function can also be used if hard disks are to be
completely deleted, e.g. before installing a new operating system.

Delete personal data in volatile and non-volatile memories
All FUJITSU desktops store personal data in volatile and non-volatile memories. The
main components on which this data is stored are:
• hard disks
• SSDs
In addition, there are other internal components (e.g. mainboard) that can contain personal
data even when the system is switched off and disconnected from power.
