Upgrading the PRIMESTATION to an SMC

A PRIMESTATION as an SMC is additionally equipped with the following
hardware components.

–

with SCS 1.7 and lower the PRIMESTATION is upgraded with:

If an upgrade like this is to take place at the customer’s site it has to
be performed by our Service organization.

–

from SCS 2.0 the SMC can be ordered as basic configuration that -
compared to the PRIMESTATION - comprises the following additional
hardware:

I

SCS 2.0 for the first time supports the onboard eri LAN ports. There-
fore the two additional FE controllers are no more necessary. If a
device with two controllers is upgraded to SCS version 2.0 or higher,
the two controllers can be further used, if that is wanted (compare
“Installing SCS” on page 101).

2 Fast Ethernet controllers (not with SCS 2.0)

128 or 256 Mbyte RAM
