Thin and soft documents

When scanning thin and soft documents, load
them with the U-turn output guide removed.
If not removed, the U-turn output guide may
crease the document.

Setting Thick Documents

You can scan documents up to 12.7 mm thick on this machine. When scanning thick
documents, use the document thickness adjustment lever on the document handler.

Each lever position and its corresponding document thickness are shown below:

Measure the thickness of the document to be
scanned.

Adjust the document thickness adjustment lever
to the thickness of documents to be scanned.

With the side to be scanned facing down, align
the document with the document guide, and then
insert it until the leading edge touches the inte-
rior of the machine.

4

Remove the ejected document.
