Replacing the Drum Cartridge

Handling Consumables/Maintenance Parts

Note the following precautions for handling consumables and maintenance parts.

• Do not store boxes for consumables/maintenance parts upright.

• Do not unpack consumables/maintenance parts before use. Avoid storing

consumables/maintenance parts in the following locations:
– Locations subject to high temperature and high humidity
– Near a fire
– In the direct sunlight
– Dusty locations

• Follow the instructions and warning notices on the boxes or containers for the

consumables/maintenance parts before use.

• We recommend keeping extra consumables/maintenance parts in stock for

convenience.

• When calling our Customer Support Center to place an order, have the product

codes for the consumables/maintenance parts ready to expedite the ordering
process.

• If you are not using the toner cartridge or the drum cartridge recommended by our

company, the performance of the machine may not be at its optimum level. Use the
toner cartridge and the drum cartridge recommended for this product.

Replacing the Drum Cartridge

The machine comes with a drum cartridge. The machine will sound an alarm and
display the message "Replacement to be made shortly" approximately 4,000 pages
before the drum cartridge reaches the end of its life. When this message appears, order
a new drum cartridge. The machine will stop when the drum cartridge ends its life.

NOTE:

The above value "4,000 pages" is based on the following conditions: (1) 1-sided

copying (not printing), (2) average number of pages copied at one time: 4 pages, (3) paper
size: A4 LEF, (4) paper tray: Tray 1, (5) output tray: Center Output Tray. This value is for
reference only and will be affected also by other machine-usage conditions, such as how
often the machine is turned on and off. Note that the page yield may be half or less of these
values under some conditions.
