Troubleshooting
General remarks
WARNING!
An electric shock can be fatal.
Before opening the device
► Turn the mains switch to the "O" position
► Unplug the machine from the mains
► Prevent it from being switched on again
► Using a suitable measuring instrument, check to make sure that electrically charged
components (e.g. capacitors) have discharged
WARNING!
An inadequate ground conductor connection can cause serious injury or damage.
The housing screws provide a suitable ground conductor connection for earthing the hous-
ing and must NOT be replaced by any other screws that do not provide a reliable ground
conductor connection.
Troubleshooting No welding current
Inverter OK, controller OK, "Current time aborted" error message
Cause: Welding lead break
Remedy: Check leads and contacts
Insufficient welding power
Cause: Faulty contacts
Remedy: Check contacts
Cause: Defective diode
Remedy: Replace the welding transformer
Cause: Transformer supply too weak
Remedy: Ensure transformer supply complies with technical data
Temperature sensors trip
Cause: Dimensioning error
Remedy: Dimension transformer correctly for the application
Cause: Inadequate coolant flow
Remedy: Ensure minimum flow according to technical data
Process tape torn off, stuck to electrode or stiff and difficult to move
Cause: Incorrect parameter settings (current too high) or incorrect tape type
Remedy: Correct parameter settings, clean electrodes and reload process tape, check
tape type and replace if necessary
Remedy: Clean tape feed mechanism and check for wear, also set tape brake correctly
Cause: No coolant flow
Remedy: Ensure coolant flow, clean electrodes and reload process tape
