Configuring an Internet Connection on the WAN Port
Once you have connected the FRITZ!Box with the Internet connection,
in some cases you may have to set up the Internet connection in the
FRITZ!Box user interface. The necessary information and settings de-
pend on the Internet connection with which the FRITZ!Box is connect-
ed.

Connecting to a Cable Modem or Internet Router
Selecting the Internet Connection

In the user interface of the FRITZ!Box, select the “Inter-
net / Account Information” menu and the “Internet Con-
nection” tab.

Select “Cable modem or Internet router” from the “Inter-
net connection via” list.
Internet Connection
The Internet connection via “Cable modem or Internet router”
selection is the factory setting.
If you connected the FRITZ!Box to a cable modem or an Inter-
net router when the “factory settings” were still configured,
the Internet connection is immediately available for the
FRITZ!Box.
If the FRITZ!Box was already connected and configured on an-
other Internet connection, then set Internet connection via
“Cable modem or Internet router”.
Entering Your Account Information
For this type of connection no account data have to be en-
tered.
Changing the Connection Settings
You can make the following changes to the connection set-
tings:

Transmission speed on your Internet connection
•
Holding and clearing the Internet connection
