Connecting to the Web Router via LAN Cable
You can use a LAN cable to connect the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater to your
wireless access point or to a web router without wireless LAN func-
tionality.
Use this connection option in the following cases:
•
The web router does not support wireless LAN.
•
The wireless access point (web router) and the
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater are too far away from each other for a wire-
less LAN connection.
•
Structural conditions, for instance concrete ceilings, prevent es-
tablishing a wireless LAN connection.

When Connecting via LAN Is Advisable
Connecting via LAN is advisable when you cannot or do not
want to establish a wireless LAN connection between the web
router (for instance FRITZ!Box) and the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
This may be, for instance, because:
•
The web router does not support wireless LAN.
•
The web router is too far away from the
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
•
Structural conditions (for instance concrete ceilings)
prevent establishing a wireless LAN connection.

If you do now want to lay any long LAN cables, you can extend
your LAN cable via the home’s own internal wiring using
