The FRITZ!Box can not defend connected USB storage media from
external influences. Voltag peaks or drops during an electrical
storm can result in the loss of data. Therefore you should back up
the contents of the USB storage media on a regular basis.

•

Place USB hard drives as far away from the FRITZ!Box as possible
in order to prevent interference to wireless radio transmission.

Instructions: Connecting and Configuring USB Storage Media

Click “Remove Safely” before removing a USB storage medium from
the FRITZ!Box. This ensures that all data transmission has been com­
pleted.

Connect the USB storage device to the USB port on the
FRITZ!Box.

The USB storage medium will be re-indexed and you can access
the stored contents.

Configuring Access Rights for USB Storage Media

Under “System / FRITZ!Box Users” in the FRITZ!Box user interface you
can specify which contents on a connected USB storage media can be
accessed by each user account.
