IMPORTANT
When reinstalling the hinge stop:
• Ensure stop is mounted fl ush to the outside edge of
the hinge.
• Do not orient lid in completely open state. Support it
in a partially closed state (slightly less than 90°) so
the hinge will not cause the hinge stop to experience
a pre-loaded situation and not torque properly.
IMPORTANT
When reinstalling the lid assist spring, apply light coating
of petroleum jelly on hooks of each spring and ensure you
have inserted the spring hook into the correct hole.
Lid Assist Spring
The lid assist spring is tensioned between the lid hinge stop
and a hole in the underside of the top panel.
To remove the lid assist spring:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, and tip top panel.
2. Lift the washer lid to relieve tension on the spring.
3. Pull assist spring hook from the top panel hole.
Lid Assist Hinge Stop
The lid assist hinge stop is mounted on the lid hinge with a
set screw.
To remove the hinge stop:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, tip top panel, lift washer lid, and remove
lid assist spring.
2. Loosen the hinge stop set screw with a phillips
screwdriver and slide the hinge stop off the hinge.
Lid Hinge
The lid hinge is mounted to the underside of the washer lid
and passes through a plastic grommet in the top panel.
To remove the lid hinge:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, lid assist spring, and hinge stop. Plastic
frame on models with glass lid must also be removed to
gain access to lid hinges.
2. With the top panel lowered and the washer lid open,
remove the two hinge mount screws on each hinge with a
phillips screwdriver and pull away from top panel grommet.

Inspect plastic, two-piece, hinge hole grommets and
replace if cracked or worn.
