5.1.1.5 Network Server Port Connection Configuration Details
defines the network server port IP connection settings. Two network servers are supported,
each individually configurable for connection and type of data output.
5.1.1.5.1 UDP Connection
Network servers can send output on UDP in three ways:
•
Broadcast
•
IP address of a specific client
•
IP address of the originator of the most recently received message on the UDP
“listener” port. Note there is no output until a message is received to initialize the
destination address and port.
5.1.1.5.2 TCP Connection
Network servers can connect and send to up to a maximum of 10 TCP clients from a pool
shared between the two network servers (i.e. the sum of the two network server connections
cannot exceed the maximum). Each network server can receive from only 1 TCP client. The
Server listens on the configured
local_port
and automatically connects until the maximum
number of clients is reached.
Only one client is permitted to be the “control” client. The control client is assigned as follows:
1.
Server control client is initialized to “no control client”
2. Server wait for an input message from any client
3.
First client that sends an input message is assigned as “control client” and we ignore
input messages from any other client
4. If
no input message is received from the “control client” within a 5 second period go back
to (1)
