Diagram E146660 shows the alternator output
performance at five different temperatures In
accordance to Ford specification at five different
temperatures. The vertical axis (A) shows output
current (Amps) and the horizontal axis (B) shows
Alternator speed in revolutions per minute (1/min).
NOTE:
Vehicles fitted with SRC and Start-Stop
will switch off the alternator if the batteries are
at a high state of charge when at engine idle.
Requirements for full alternator charge voltage
for functions such as; charging a third battery,
jump starting, inferred engine run status and high
voltage to counteract volt drop in systems, will
need to switch on the alternator. This can be done
by turning on the hazard switch in conditions
where it is convenient and legal to do so. Contact
your local Ford Dealer or National Sales Company
representative.
