OPENING AND CLOSING THE
HOOD

Opening the Hood

E142457

Inside the vehicle, pull the hood release
handle located under the left-hand
side of the instrument panel.

2. Press the driver side hood pin (A) first,

then the passenger side hood pin (B).

Note:

If you find your hood pin button

efforts to be high, apply light downward
pressure to the outer bezel of the hood pin,
then press the hood pin button.

3. Slightly lift the hood.

4. Release the hood latch by pushing the

secondary release lever to your
left-hand side and open the hood.

Closing the Hood

Lower the hood and allow it to drop under
its own weight for the last 8–12 in
(20–30 cm).

Note:

Make sure that the hood is fully

closed before driving your vehicle. A warning
indicator appears in the instrument cluster
if the hood is not fully closed.
