Programme architecture
" Focal Manager " - PDA version – is built around a single main menu quite comparable
with the " Manager " menu of the Mac/PC version.
Programme windows are different but yet inspired by the same purposes as those used in
the PC/Mac software: please refer to the explanations already given in the first section of
the manual.
Some figures are nevertheless presented that illustrate the various windows that exist the in
the PDA version.
Programme limitation
Contrary to the Mac/PC version, the PDA programme does not include a "
Utilities
" menu.
Therefore it is not possible to perform a DSP firmware upgrade from a hand-held.
Using a PDA with computer visualisation
It is possible to control a system from a PDA while visualising the actual changes on a
computer where "
Focal Manager " is being run.
In this case the "
master
" loudspeaker must still be set for infra-red reception; a serial
RS-232 connection between the speaker will enable the computer to receive the
information and "
Focal Manager " to display any changes made on the computer screen.
