high pressure, dilute the lubricant and in-
crease friction . As a result, rust is formed
which destroys the bearings . Cleaning
with a high-pressure cleaner may dam-
age the electrical system .
The following are not suitable for clean-
ing your FLYER e-bike:
• Acids
• Fats
• Oil
• Brake cleaner (only to use on brake
discs)
• Solvent-based liquids .
These damage the surfaces and contrib-
ute to wear on the FLYER e-bike .
After use, ensure that you dispose of the
lubricant, cleaning and care products in
an environmentally friendly way . These
substances do not belong in domestic
waste, in the drain or in natural environ-
ments .
Smooth operation and durability of your
FLYER e-bike depend on appropriate
maintenance and care for your FLYER .
• Regularly clean your FLYER with
warm water, small amounts of clean-
ing agent and a sponge .
• While cleaning the FLYER, always
check your e-bike for cracks, notches
or material deformities .
• Damaged parts must be replaced with
original spare parts . Please only ride
your FLYER again after this check
has been carried out .
• Have any paint damage removed by
your FLYER specialist retailer .
Further important information concerning care for
your FLYER e-bike is provided on the website of
the respective component manufacturer .
Speed sensor
The speed sensor is used to show the speed in
the FLYER display and correctly calculate the as-
sistance needed .
The speed sensor and the associated spoke magnet
must be fastened so that the distance between the
spoke magnet and the marking position on the speed
sensor is 1 to 5 mm. If the distance is different, an
error message will appear .
Power supply to external devices
You can use the USB port to charge external de
-
vices, e .g . smartphones, that can be powered via
USB . The charging cable of the device can be
connected directly to the FLYER display .
In order to charge external devices, your FLYER
e-bike must contain a charged FLYER battery .
Open the cover of the USB port on the display
and connect the charging cable to it .
• Do not place the connected device on
a tilted or unstable place while charg-
ing . Otherwise, it could fall and be-
come damaged .
•
Do not charge external devices in
rainy weather or connect a wet USB
cable . The USB connection is not wa-
terproof!
•
You must not connect external de
-
vices when riding in the rain and the
USB port must be completely covered
by the protective cap .
• After using the USB port, be sure to
firmly tighten the rubber cap.
• Make sure that the voltage of the USB
port is suitable for your device . (See the
technical data for the voltages)
