6 Operation
6.1 Drum emptying:
> Close ball valve (1).
> If not already done so, connect the medium
hose with the pump.
> Switch on the pump. The drum is being emptied. The follower plate follows in
emptying speed. If no more medium flows out, immediately switch off the pump
Attention!
> When lowering the follower plate, make sure that the arresting hook
does not hook on the drum edge (see picture p. 37).
Attention!
> Do not leave drum emptying system unattended.
> Switch the pump off immediately when there is no flow of medium.
Danger of dry running!
Danger of damage to materials and pump!
6.2 Remove follower plate and pump
Attention!
> The follower plate has to be taken off the drum after every drum
emptying!

On emptied drums, the follower plate sticks to the bottom.
> Switch the pump off, if not already done.
Do not yet disassemble the pump!
> Release the union nut for the motor fixing
on the pump and take off the motor.
Do not take off flange-mounted three-
phase motors.
> Connect the compressed air supply on the
threaded nipple.
> Switch on the compressed air supply.
To do so, slowly open the ball valve (1)
on the pressurising and venting hose.
Allow compressed air to flow into the
drum slowly. The follower plate will move
upwards.
