Adjust Phase - Aux to Output
This slide-out menu is available for all Dual Output ac functions and adjusts the phase difference
between the Aux Output and the primary Output.
For Sine-Sine AC Power, the phase shift adjustments may be entered as a displacement power factor
(DPF) as well as in degrees. When you enter a power factor, this activates the Lead/Lag toggle. A
leading or positive phase shift causes the AUX waveform to lead the OUTPUT waveform; a lagging or
negative phase shift causes the AUX waveform to lag the OUTPUT waveform.
To adjust the phase:
1. Tap the Adjust Phase Aux to Output button (
). A menu opens and shows the current degree,
or degree and power factor for Sine-Sine ACP.
2. Touch the deg or DPF white box and use the number pad to enter a value. If a DPF is entered, then
select Lead or Lag using the toggle.
3. Tap the
Apply
button or push
E
. This closes the menu. The entry is copied to the correct
output on the screen. Tapping
x
instead of
Apply
closes the menu without saving changes.
When you use the knob to adjust phase, changes are applied immediately and the
Apply
button
disappears. Push
E
or tap
x
to exit the slide-out. Tapping
x
does not revert changes.
Sync Button
The
Sync
button
is available for Single Output and Dual Output ac functions. Because the button
requires a longer explanation, see
Synchronize the Calibrator Using 10 MHz IN/OUT
Comp Softkey
The
Comp
softkey is available in Single Output menu Resistance, Capacitance, and Inductance
functions. Compensation (Comp) Applies 4-wire compensation, 2-wire compensation or turns
compensation off. Compensation refers to methods of connecting the Calibrator to the DUT to cancel
out test lead resistance. See
Four-Wire versus Two-Wire Connections
for more information. For the
