4.5.4 POWER SUPPLY WIRING
When not directly supplied from mains (type PM), the external power supply must be an
approved ELV source, insulated from AC mains by double / reinforced insulation per CSA
C22.2 No. 61010-1 / UL61010-1 / EN/IEC 61010-1.
The F043-T can be powered from an external power supply. An internal power supply is also
available in the form of a lithium battery. When both external and internal power supplies are
available, the internal power supply is interrupted and will act as a backup supply. Note that the
optional backlight only works with an external power supply.
4.6 TERMINAL CONNECTORS SAFE AREA APPLICATIONS
– TYPE PB / PX
Take careful notice of all safety and precautionary measures indicated in paragraph
4.5: Electrical Installation and review paragraph 4.5.3 and 4.5.4 before applying any
field or power supply wiring.
For Intrinsically Safe applications: read chapter 5.
Following terminal connectors are available on the F043-T Type PB / PX:

4.6.1 TERMINALS 1-4: SENSOR INPUT
See drawing above for the proper connection of a 2, 3 or 4 wire PT100 sensor. The signal will be
processed 4 times per second with a 16 bits accuracy.
4.6.2 TERMINAL 5-6: POWER SUPPLY - TYPE PX
To power the F043-T an internal battery can be used (type PB) and / or an external DC power
supply of 8-30V DC (type PX). Connect the "
- " to terminal 5 and the " + " to terminal 6.
When power is applied to these terminals, the optional internal battery will be disabled / enabled
automatically to extend the battery life time.
