VX7T SALT CHLORINE GENERATOR
1.0 GENERAL OVERVIEW
Congratulations! You have purchased a VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator. Please read the instructions carefully and your purchase will
provide you with years of trouble free use.
Your VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator works by converting some of the salt in your pool into chlorine which starts to destroy algae and
bacteria in your pool water thereby sanitizing your pool. As part of the process, the chlorine is converted back into salt and hence
salt is not consumed.
Your VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator control has many features to ensure simple operation of your chlorinator and filtration system. It
has a clever Spa mode to ensure that the right level of chlorine is produced whilst you are enjoying a spa.
The VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator has an internal electronic time clock designed to operate the filtration pump up to 4 time periods
Monday to Friday and 4 time periods Saturday/Sunday. This model should not be connected to an external time clock where power
is disconnected on a regular basis. The VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator has a battery backup which is designed only to maintain timer
setting memory in the event of an infrequent and short power interruption.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY, DO NOT PERMIT CHILDREN TO USE THIS
PRODUCT.
1.1 CHLORINATOR CONTROL UNIT INSTALLATION
The VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator control has a Rating of IP24 enabling it to be installed outdoors. Regulations state that the
chlorinator control unit is not allowed to be located within 3 m (10 ft) of the pool water.
The chlorinator control unit should be installed in a well-ventilated position ideally away from direct sunlight. Ensure that the unit is
not located near pool chemicals as fumes may damage the control.
Included in the kit are two green masonry plugs and screws. When installing on a brick or concrete wall, use a 7 mm (9/32) masonry
drill. Mounting Screws should be 180 mm (7.1 in) apart and located at least 1.5 m(5 ft) above ground level.
When installing the chlorinator control unit on a post, first attach a flat waterproof panel at least 300 mm wide by 500 mm long (12 in
wide by 20 in long). Make sure the unit is located centrally on the panel and sits flat.
Have a qualified electrician install a weatherproof junction box with a GFCI protected outlet. Plug the chlorinator control unit power
cable to the GFCI protected outlet. Then plug the power cable from the cell into to the chlorinator control unit. Finally, plug the
power cable from the pump into the chlorinator control unit.
Note: The pump current rating must not exceed 8 amps.
WARNING
The VX7T Salt Chlorine Generator must have the circulating pump connected to the pump outlet on the bottom of the chlorinator
control unit.
