7.5 Once a year
in addition to the above
7.5.1 On units with a drive gear, remove the drive gear protection and check the
condition of the drive gear. No cracks, no play on axle and good condition of
the plastic insert. Reinstall the drive gear protection.
7.5.2 Complete function test, letting the unit function by mixing additive. This is to
check the
function of the system. It should be controlled that (i) rotation is
smooth, (ii) suction is
immediate, and (iii) dosing is within the tolerance. If the
unit is not working satisfactorily, read
section 8. Troubleshooting.
7.5.2.1 Optional dosing return valve: This valve may be used to check the function
and dosing of the unit. See 4.8 for more information.
7.5.3 Afterwards clean the filter according to 7.4.1
7.5.4 Change oil in the pump, see next point.
7.6
Pump oil change:
The oil should be changed after the
first year
or
first 50 hours
of operation,
whichever comes first. Thereafter, the oil must be changed every year or after
100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. If the unit is installed in a climate
controlled room with low humidity, the time interval may be extended to two
years.
Oil specification: use a quality automotive oil as follows:
•
Engine oil SAE 10W40 or Gearbox oil SAE 75 W-90
Check the dimensional drawing for more specifications and filling volume
needed on the larger units. Contact your distributor or Firemiks AB if any
questions remain.
7.6.1 Oil change instructions:
•
Preferably change to oil
after the unit has operated
so that the oil will be
thinner.
•
Find the oil drain plug and
put a container under it (3)
•
Remove the oil dipstick (1)
and then the drain plug (3).
•
Wait until all the oil has
drained out, then screw the
drain plug (3) back in and
tighten.
•
Fill with new oil until the
middle of the oil level
indicator (2) is reached,
